Kolok SA, an official Kaspersky Lab partner, has announced the immediate availability of Kaspersky Internet Security – multi-device 2014, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Internet Security for Android to the South African channel.
The Kaspersky Lab 2014 home products, launched in October 2014 in SA, include a myriad of new features and enhancements, reconfirming the brand’s global positioning and security solution value offering to the local market.
Kolok will be offering Kaspersky Internet Security – multi-device 2014, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 and Kaspersky Internet Security for Android as standalone products as well as bundled with its hardware such as notebooks, tablets, smartphones, desktops and all-in-ones.
Apart from Kaspersky Lab home products, Kolok also offers the company’s corporate security solutions to the SA channel.
“We’re very excited to offer Kaspersky Lab 2014 home products immediately to the South African market. Kaspersky Lab is undoubtedly one of the world’s leading security solution companies and is consistently rated as one of the top offerings in various classes,” says Esna-May Hattingh, hardware division head at Kolok SA.
“As a result, we decided to offer Kaspersky Lab 2014 home products both as a standalone product as well as part of our hardware value offering which ensures that users have that peace of mind that their devices are safeguarded against potential security onslaughts.”
Kaspersky Internet Security – multi-device 2014 provides real-time protection against all new and emerging malware and Internet threats for a range of devices such as: PCs; Macs; Android smartphones and tablets.
This state-of-the-art solution allows for the easily securing of any combination of devices with one activation code.
Enhancements and new features include Trusted Applications mode which allows for the launch of applications that are identified as safe to use.
Explains Hattingh: “The Trusted Applications feature for example is based on the extensive and constantly updated Kaspersky Lab Whitelisting database of legitimate applications.”
Furthermore, Kaspersky’s Safe Money technology – first introduced in the previous version of Kaspersky Internet Security – now includes support for more Web browsers and a significantly expanded list of trusted online banking sites, payment services and online stores.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 delivers essential anti-virus technologies such as real-time, cloud-assisted protection against the latest malware threats.
Both products feature Kaspersky’s improved Automatic Exploit Prevention technology which scans legitimate programmes for behaviour typically found in exploits – a type of malware that infects the PC through vulnerabilities in installed software.
The products also include Kaspersky’s new ZETA (Zero day, Exploit and Targeted Attack) Shield technology which performs an in-depth scan of data files (PDF documents or XLS spread sheets) to identify unknown exploits and malware that may hide deep inside.
Lastly, Kaspersky Internet Security for Android delivers Kaspersky Lab’s latest mobile security technologies – including anti-theft and cloud-enabled protection technology. It is an easy-to-use, single solution that’s optimised to protect both Android smartphones and Android tablets from Internet security threats with minimal impact on device performance.
From Kolok, Kaspersky Internet Security – multi-device 2014 is available as two- and four-device packages, the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014 option is available for two PCs and Kaspersky Internet Security for Android is available in a one device package.
