MTN, in partnership with PEP Stores, is running a consumer-driven initiative that aims to ease the financial load on its customers as essential needs such as transport, food, school fees and uniforms take precedence over other day-to-day expenditures.
The telecommunications company is giving away R2-million in school uniform vouchers and school fees at PEP stores to its PayAsYouGo and TopUp customers till March this year.
“The start of the new year always marks a significant shift in financial priorities for many consumers,” elaborates Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA.
“The post-festive season reality sets in, making it even more apparent for consumers to focus heavily on covering the most basic but important needs. The bursaries and school uniform consumer-oriented promotion reaffirms our commitment to being a customer-centric organisation that gives back to its customers.
“Education remains a priority need for the nation, and by giving consumers the opportunity to cover some of the costs that come with sending children to school, we are investing in the future of the country.”
PEP vouchers worth R1 000 each are up for grabs and can be used to purchase school uniform or stationery. There are also 10 R10 000 school fees to be won, which will be deposited in the bank account of the winners’ institution of choice.
The promotion has been running since 26 December last year and ends on 31 March 2013. To stand a chance to win a share of the R2-million in school uniform and feesd MTN PayAsYouGo and MTN TopUp (excluding My Choice TopUp) customers must register by dialling *186*8#.
Once successfully registered, customers who recharge with at least R10 airtime each month or recharge vouchers that make up at least R10 every month will qualify to be entered into the draw.
