Vox Telecom will be offering free hardware and installation on its YahClick business and enterprise packages during the month of March.
YahClick, a pioneering Ka-band satellite service offered by Vox Telecom, is the answer that many rural businesses and regional offices have been waiting for. Based on Ka-band technology (a first for Africa), YahClick offers speeds of up to 15Mbps on enterprise packages, with pricing that is comparable to urban terrestrial services.
“Both the installation and the hardware required, including the satellite dish and router, will be free for all business and enterprise customers that place an order during March 2013, says Clayton Timcke, head of marketing at Vox Telecom.
YahClick business and enterprise packages vary in cost and size, with the most comprehensive package allowing usage of up to 360Gb of bandwidth per month, ideal for multi-branch companies, large businesses such as mines and a wide range of SMEs that depend on quality, affordable and reliable voice and data solutions.
“Installation is quick and unobtrusive, much like installing a DStv dish, which is why we’ve trained hundreds of installers across the country to assist with servicing the demand,” says Jacques Visser, project manager for YahClick at Vox Telecom.
YahClick was the first Ka-band satellite service to be launched in South Africa and is the result of a partnership between local telecommunications company Vox Telecom and Abu Dhabi-based Yahsat.
Ka-band satellites transmit many highly focused, overlapping “spot beams”, each covering a relatively small area, which allows for access to greater bandwidth at a lower cost. This means that even customers in rural areas now have access to high-speed Internet.
