Metrofile Records Management – a group company of JSE-listed Metrofile Holdings – has increased its footprint in the Western Cape through the expansion of its Cape Town warehouse facility that will enable it to cater for its rapidly growing client base.
The expansion will require additional staff to service the facilities in an operational capacity, thus improving employment opportunities in the area.
Wayne Clarke, GM at Metrofile Cape Town, says that in order to accommodate the demand, a two-phase expansion project was undertaken which saw the branch’s world-class storage facilities increase by a total 2 700 square metres.
“Through the expansion we sought to ensure maximum utilisation of the space available on site. The upgraded facility now provides storage space for an additional 305 800 boxes and we are now well-positioned to handle the substantial growth in future business volumes.”
Clarke says that the increased capacity ensures that the facilities are kept close to the main servicing hub, thereby streamlining processes and ensuring that not only are service level agreements with clients adhered to, but exceeded.
He says that the new facility incorporates a high-tech Automate Sprinkler Inspection Bureau (ASIB) approved sprinkler system, as part of the company’s fire protection plan.
“Ensuring that our clients’ records are protected against fire damage is a high priority for the company, so installing top quality sprinkler systems is unquestionable.
“Through our increased capacity, Metrofile Cape Town is set to effectively service the Western Cape’s business sector with secure and reliable information and records storage facilities,” concludes Clarke.
