Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently showcased its full range of LTE devices at the LTE Africa 2013 conference.
These included the E5776 multi-mode Mobile WiFi, the MediaPad 10 Link 10-inch quad-core LTE tablet and the B5935 Smart Hub. A total of seven Huawei LTE terminal devices were on display.
Since initiating LTE R&D efforts in 2004, Huawei has been a global leader in the development of LTE technology and has led the way in commercial LTE rollouts.
Moreover, Huawei maintains membership in every LTE standardisation organisation, and company representatives hold important positions in a number of LTE groups. Huawei’s role in the development of LTE has resulted in several industry firsts as well as a leadership position in LTE standards, patents, and global LTE commercialisation.

Huawei’s LTE product display at LTE Africa offered the chance to see the company’s full range of LTE devices in one location,” says Peter Hu, MD, Huawei Device Eastern and Southern Africa.
On display was the E5776, Huawei’s newest LTE Pocket WiFi. This device supports LTE Category 4, offering downlink data rates of up to 150Mbps and uplink data rates of 50Mbps.
With a battery life lasting up to 10 hours, the E5776 can simultaneously support the connection of 10 devices with WiFi access to an LTE network. It is compatible with more than 95% of battery-powered devices or products on the market that connect to the Internet via WiFi, allowing consumers to share their Internet connectivity to the LTE wireless broadband network on the go.
Also on display was the Huawei MediaPad 10 Link, a fast-performing tablet with unsurpassed audio-visual entertainment features including a quad-core 1,2GHz processor, Google Android 4.2 operating system and a 10-inch IPS high definition display screen.
The Huawei MediaPad 10 Link enables high speed wireless access of up to 42Mbps, while supporting a number of network standards including LTE Category 4 at the same time.
Finally, Huawei also showcased the B5935, a successor to the B593 which was the world’s first TDD LTE home router, offering support for both LTE TDD and FDD, downlink data rates of up to 150Mbps, and access for up to 32 WiFi devices and desktop computers through its Ethernet port.
It is an ideal home entertainment and information exchange hub, providing multiple devices simultaneous high-speed Internet access, high-definition video downloads and real-time video viewing and transmission. The B5935 is also perfect for small businesses with its connectivity options to VOIP telephone and fax, printers and other office equipment.
Additional Huawei LTE products on display were the Ascend P2, the world’s fastest 4G LTE smartphone; the W322 WiFi repeater; and the E3276 LTE modem.
