The TT100 Awards are an annual event hosted by the Da Vinci Institute for the Management of Technology and Innovation under the auspices of the Department of Science and Technology and are recognised as the premier business excellence awards in South Africa and a celebration of South African innovation. Representatives of Altech UEC’s executive management received the awards, as well as acknowledgement for their achievements, from the Minister of Science and Technology, the honourable Derek Hanekom.
The TT100 2013 Minister’s Award for Overall Excellence is awarded in recognition of a company that consistently and progressively demonstrates a unique ability to manage core elements of the business, including technology, innovation, people, systems, research and sustainability.
The TT100 2013 Minister’s Award for the Management of Innovation is presented to those companies that use innovation and technology to develop and enhance existing business practices.
According to Danie du Toit, group MD at Altech Multimedia, the awards are an affirmation of Altech UEC International as one of the most innovative developers of technology and systems in South Africa today.
“Historically, we have always focussed on ensuring that our systems, performance and innovation are of an international, world class standard and being the recipients of these very prestigious awards reaffirms our leadership position in our industry,” he says.
“We use innovation in a number of ways, not only in our products but also in our processes. However, these awards are not the result of individual efforts but a collective effort by all members of Altech UEC International and my congratulations and thanks go out to all them for their hard work and dedication,” he concludes.
In addition to the TT100 Awards, Altech UEC also recently won the South Africa National Business Award 2013 in the category: Organisation – Innovation Through Technology.
The National Business Awards were first introduced in 2002 to recognise and honour the top performers of the year in both business and industry, for individuals, companies and government.
