Metrofile has issued a trading statement alerting shareholders to the fact its headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the period ended 31 December 2013 are expected to be about 20% higher than in the previous corresponding period.

The company’s earnings per shares (EPS) have been impacted by the insurance claim in respect of the KwaZulu-Natal fire, which occurred in October 2013. The claim is in the final stages and the quantum is yet to be finalised. As a result the range for the EPS is broader and is expected to be between 39% and 49% higher than the previous corresponding period.

Meanwhile, Richard Buttle has advised the Board of his intention to resign as chief financial officer with effect from 31 October 2014.
