With effect from Saturday (1 March), MTN South Africa standardised international call rates across its prepaid, top up, and contract price plans to make it easier for customers to manage their budgets when reaching out to family and friends who are abroad.

“As a customer-centric organisation, MTN is committed to providing call rates that are not only cost-effective but also easier to understand. For far too long, the cellphone market has been needlessly complex for end-users,” says Brian Gouldie, chief marketing officer at MTN South Africa.

The new standardised call rates apply to all MTN customers throughout the day.

“With these international call rates, which start at 99 cents per minute charged at per second rate, our customers will always know exactly what they will be charged irrespective of the plan they are on. This sees MTN making calls to anywhere in the world more affordable to its customers,” adds Gouldie.
