Bill Gates has reclaimed the title of the world’s richest man, with a personal fortune of $76-billion. He is closely followed by telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim Helu and family with $72-billion.
This is according to the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires, which places Larry Ellison, with $48-billion, at number five on the list of the top 10 richest people in the world.
Others on the top 10 list include Amancio Ortega with $64-billion; Warren Buffet with $58,2-billion; Charles Koch and David Koch with $40-billion each; David Adelson with $38-billion; Christy Walton and family with $36,7-billion; and Jim Walton with $36,7-billion.
The richest technology leaders are Gates and Ellison, followed by Larry Page with $32,2-billion; Jeff Bezos with $32-billion; Sergey Brin with $31,8-billion; Mark Zuckerberg with $28,5-billion; Steve Ballmer with $19,3-billion; Michael Dell with $17,5-billion; Paul Allen with $15,9-billion and Azim Premji with $15,3-billion.
The Forbes list features South Africans Johann Rupert and family ($7,6-billion), Nicky Oppenheimer and family ($6,7-billion), Christo Wiese ($3,2-billion), Patrice Motsepe ($2-billion), Koos Bekker ($1,3-billion), Allan Gray ($1,3-billion), Stephen Saad ($1,3-billion) and Desmond Sacco ($1,3-billion).
