MTN was caught unawares by yesterday’s power cuts, resulting in service disruptions, but the telco is taking steps to keep its services running.

The company states that MTN services were affected in certain areas around the country yesterday when load shedding resumed.

“MTN has activated its business continuity plan to ensure that its services are maintained at the levels consumers and business customers expect,” says Eben Albertyn, chief technical officer at MTN South Africa.”

“In our industry, power outages do interrupt our services. MTN is doing everything in its power to get those services up and running in the shortest possible time,” Albertyn adds.
