Job Mail, the only South African jobs portal that allows employers and recruitment agencies to post free job ads, has just filed its one-millionth CV, says Angelique Robbertse, product and marketing manager at JobMail.
That means employers and recruitment agencies now have access to over a million South Africans who are actively or passively looking for new jobs.
“The size and quality of our database is what keeps our clients coming back. We advertise about 1 000 new jobs every day, and have a very high success rate of all those positions getting filled.
“One of the reasons for Job Mail’s success in this is its unique combination of online, mobile and print advertising. Over 50% of the CV uploads and job applications are made via mobile phone, and JobMail has made the mobile experience as easy as possible for the users.
“They can register on the site, upload their CV and add photos or videos, all from their phones. That’s very important to our target market, who often don’t have easy access to desktop computers.”
This also accounts for the continued success of Job Mail’s print edition, adds Robbertse.
“We have a readership of over 80 000 job seekers a week around the country, and it’s a very important channel for certain categories of workers as they do not sit in front of a computer all day. We have a clear niche and we’re serving it very well. “
Robbertse says about 9 000 job applications are made via the Job Mail Web and mobile sites every day.
“While many jobs are filled by employers and recruitment agencies searching directly through our CV database. We are one of the few job boards that allows private companies to search our database directly, which is a great help to smaller companies who can’t afford to use a recruitment agency.”
For recruitment agencies, on the other hand, using Job Mail helps them sift through thousands of CVs quickly and efficiently by searching the database for particular qualifications or key words.
“And when it comes to applications, we help to keep out irrelevant applications by offering a filtering questionnaire that candidates must complete before they can apply.
“We’re proud that over a million people trust us with their CVs,” says Robbertse. “Bringing job seekers and employers together to make the best matches is what Job Mail is all about.”
