Gemalto has been chosen to help Algeria roll out its ambitious e-passport strategy.

The Algerian governmental agency, Hôtel des Monnaies de la Banque d’Algérie, has selected Gemalto’s Sealys eCover for e-passports and embedded e-travel software to support its e-passport programme and to increase its production capacity.

Gemalto’s technology is reinforced by its advanced production and delivery capabilities that will ensure rapid deployment of e-passports while helping to enhance the traveling experience for Algerian citizens.

The embedded Sealys eTravel software is ICAO Common Criteria-certified and offers speedy personalisation as well as secure data access. In addition, Gemalto’s Sealys e-covers meet the high durability and quality requirements of the Algerian programme.

“We needed a reliable partner to ensure that the e-passports are delivered as quickly as possible to citizens throughout the country,” states the Hôtel des Monnaies de la Banque d’Algérie.

“Gemalto has the global experience and service level, including redundancy production capabilities, to enable us to perform the smooth issuance of the documents in all phases of the programme.”
