Intuate Group has announced the signing of a reseller agreement with California-based Skyera – a start-up that designs software and hardware for enterprise solid-state storage systems, which deliver unprecedented flash density and efficiency.

This partnership will bring Intuate clients cutting-edge solutions for their data centre storage requirements. With Skyera’s portfolio of affordable all-flash storage, along with its patented Solid-State Storage Enterprise Operating System (SeOS), Intuate clients can expect 10x in performance and capacity, while dramatically minimising the cost of power consumption and data centre floor space.

“Enterprise customers require higher performance, improved power efficiency and capacity for their storage architectures,” says Mark Edwards, director and CTO at Intuate Group, “By working closely with Skyera, we can ensure that Intuate is continuing to provide the unmatched innovation and leading-edge technologies our customers have come to expect.”

Skyera’s skyHawk is the first solid-state storage system to bring true price parity with enterprise spinning disk storage.

Through a ground-up, system-wide approach to the design, development and integration of all components in the technology stack – including the Flash controller, RAID controller, storage blades, communication bus and network interface – skyHawk offers enterprise organisations an all-Flash solid-state storage system that can finally replace hard disk drive-based storage.

“Skyera was founded by a team with an unrivalled background in the solid-state, storage and networking arenas who believed legacy HDD storage systems are not sufficient for today, let alone tomorrow’s data centre application and operations requirements.

“We are the only enterprise array vendor with an advanced Flash controller that can take advantage of the cost and capacity benefits of the most advanced NAND Flash media, while delivering performance and durability that exceed enterprise standards,” says Timm Hoyt, vice-president, worldwide channels at Skyera.

“Intuate is known for its ability to deliver functionality and performance to local clients, and we are delighted that Skyera’s solutions will now form part of that offering in the South African market,” Hoyt concludes.
