Bytes Universal Systems has announced its appointment as an authorised distributor of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence products in South Africa. BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (formerly known as BAE Systems Detica) provides a suite of products that focuses on protecting and enhancing clients’ critical operations using intelligence-grade security and large-scale data exploitation and analytics.
Mark Neethling, division director at Bytes Universal Systems, explains that the BAE Systems Applied Intelligence products have a key role to play in detecting and preventing financial crime, including fraud and corruption.
“South Africa faces major challenges in terms of economic crime and Bytes Universal Systems is very pleased to join the fight against the scourge of financial crime and corruption,” says Neethling. “We believe that we are in a position to add real value to a wide range of institutions, from banks, insurers and asset managers to telecommunications companies.”
In addition, says Neethling, this commitment to fighting financial corruption aligns both strategically and ethically with the principles of its parent, Altron TMT.
“Our products use the power of technology and analytics to halt crime, but we also depend on the quality of our distributors around the world,” says Chris Green, MD, Financial Crime, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. “We are excited to have signed up a company with the reach of Bytes Universal Systems to distribute our products in South Africa.”
