Q-KON South Africa (Q-KON SA) has strengthened its value proposition to the market having acquired qualification and certification from AudioCodes to serve as a Specialised Training Centre and offer AudioCodes Certified Training.

The telecommunications engineering firm is already a recognised provider of training on the global technologies it specialises in, including well-known brands such as Sonus. The Company has served as an accredited Sonus training provider since 2005.

AudioCodes designs, develops and supplies VoIP and data networking products and communications applications. Products are deployed internationally in broadband, mobile, cable and enterprise networks.

The company’s product and solution portfolio includes IP phones, session border controllers (SBC), multi-service business routers (MSBR), media servers as well as mobile communications solutions, among others.

Q-KON SA is an established distributor of AudioCodes products. It has reinforced this industry alliance by establishing itself as a training partner, equipped to deliver AudioCodes branded training sessions.

The training is sourced through The AudioCodes Academy which offers a comprehensive set of technical training courses for partners and customers.

By providing several levels of certification, distinct training programs and a combination of theory and hands-on studies, the academy is built to help system integrators, resellers, and distributors equip their people with the necessary skills to deploy and maintain AudioCodes networking technology in the field.

Content is constantly updated by AudioCodes’ Training Department and is designed to create and maintain market knowledge of VoIP technologies and the use of AudioCodes equipment.

The Q-KON SA AudioCodes Specialised Training Centre offers two AudioCodes Certified Training Programmes: AudioCodes Certified Associate (ACA) and AudioCodes Certified Professional (ACP).

ACA is first level certification which combines elementary and intermediate training divided into two distinct paths – Microsoft Lync Career Path and E-SBC Career Path. ACP is built on top of the ACA certification and includes in-depth training in a selected program to guide users on one of two paths.

Tjaart de Wet, MD of Q-KON SA, explains that the training is targeted at technical professionals including system engineers, network architects, consultants and integrators.

“These professionals are directly involved and responsible for the planning, design, implementation and management of Microsoft Lync networks. Learners must have a minimum of one year practical experience in core technologies including VoIP and SIP networking architecture, IP networking and SIP control protocol signalling stack,” de Wet continues.

He believes Q-KON SA delivers a much-needed training and skills development service to a market in which core technical architecture continues to grow in significance.
