OTEL Telecoms, a licenced South African National Telecoms Carrier, announced today the release of its CloudAstrix Business Edition, a multi-tenant hosted PBX SoftSwitch aimed at Enterprise and Internet Telephony Service Providers.

“As hosted telephony become increasingly critical to business success, enterprises are seeking solutions which can increase productivity thus realising higher profits. Telephony Service Providers are looking for ways to provide Enterprises with these solutions quickly and cost-effectively. However, we know that if a SoftSwitch is complicated and requires 3rd Party software to handle its CRM and Service Billing, they won’t be used,” states Kiran Kolli, head of Development at OTEL Telecoms.

The CloudAstrix Business Edition offer Enterprises free licencing of its on-site or hosted PBX software, with limited annual ticket based support contract included. Featuring unlimited extensions and PBX functions, the enterprise can enjoy the latest technology at no OPEX cost.

“Business Edition was designed to promote our flagship CloudAstrix Service Provider Edition, which is used by many Internet Service Providers worldwide,” adds Mohammad Patel, CEO of OTEL Telecoms.

This licencing model will motivate PBX Service Providers to deploy CloudAstrix Business Edition as it is accompanied with a stable technical support contract which makes it a more attractive proposition than Open Source PBXs or costly conventional telephony systems.

“Internet service providers using the Business Edition alongside the CloudAstrix SPE wholesale softswitch will be eligible for 100 extension licence at no extra cost. This is the perfect telepreneur entry point.”

The advantage of Business edition is that, like its stable-mate CloudAstrix SPE, it uses the world acclaimed WHMCS ISP Billing platform to manage its users, provisioning and clients. All PBXs deployed by the Service Provider can be managed via one login and one screen, a world first in Service Provider VoIP SoftSwitches.

Whilst the softswitch remains carrier neutral, it is usable in any world market thanks to its multi-currency system.

“We’ve simplified the user interface to accommodate the new entrants to ITSP. The switch however provides stable yet powerful functions to its users,” concludes Kolli.
