Cyberoam SA’s Pieter Nel says one of the key uses for the portal is access to the knowledge base which offers a wealth of competitive information that will help resellers in a sales situation.
Importantly the portal lets resellers keep track of their subscription customers and alerts them when these need to be renewed.
Deal management is a vital part of the partner relationship, and the tool on the portal is an important tool.
Once a reseller has registered a deal, that partner is protected as the owner of that deal. Partners can also ensure price protection by registering their deals on the portal.
Pre-sales assistance in the form of live chat is also available from the portal, so advice is available at any time.
Marketing services is a tool that African partners have traditionally not made much use of, but Nel points out that the marketing portal offers a wealth of resources that customers can use. Resellers can also use the portal to request MDF or marketing resources.
As part of the marketing function, Cyberoam can help resellers to do email campaigns, with templates already designed and mass mailings undertaken on behalf of the partner.
“Every sales guy should have access to this portal,” says Nel. “It gives them to tools to sell the product and to manage their renewals.”
