McAfee, part of Intel Security, has announced the appointment of Trevor Coetzee as its new regional director, South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
His primary responsibilities will be the overall guidance and direction of the South African and sub-Saharan African region and promoting the McAfee brand.
His new role sees Coetzee accountable for achieving the regional sales and profitability goals, and establishing and maintaining an environment for future growth. He will also provide direction and leadership to the regional staff, while also taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and market share.
In line with McAfee’s commitment to the region, Coetzee will be managing a team whose staff compliment was recently increased to include additional technical, channel management and business development resources. Coetzee has more than 13 years IT experience, ranging from direct sales account management, vendor channel management and enterprise sales management.
“Trevor brings a proven track record in the industry along with business development and lead generation skills,” says Jan van Vliet, vice-president of Emerging Markets, McAfee EMEA. “We are delighted to welcome Trevor to the McAfee team. Trevor’s leadership will ensure that McAfee will continue to lead the transformation of the security market in this region in 2014.”
“My experience has given me a good understanding of the dynamics within each segment and the overall market,” says Trevor Coetzee. “I have created long-term relationships with resellers, distributors and end-users alike within multiple sectors and feel that the experience I have gained provides me with a good rounded portfolio.”
Prior to joining McAfee, Coetzee was in a senior management role responsible for the overall commercial and partner channel business for Symantec.
