T-Systems in South Africa has been named Frost & Sullivan’s Company of the Year in the IT Services Industry for 2014.
Each year, this award is presented to the company that has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in terms of growth strategy and implementation.
This award recognises a true industry leader that delivers best practices in growth, innovation, and leadership across visionary innovation and performance as well as customer impact.
“These companies have a keen eye to the future, and drive innovation that meets future needs before they become commonly visible, thereby often being first to market with new solutions. They focus on delivering the best products at optimal prices to maximise customer value and customer experience, and by doing so are growth leaders in their respective industries.
“Identifying such companies involves extensive primary and secondary research across the entire value chain of specific products and/or markets. Against the backdrop of this research, we are pleased to recognise T-Systems as the Company of the Year in the IT Services Market,” says David Frigstad, chairman of Frost & Sullivan.
In attaining this accolade, T-Systems was applauded for its customer-centric approach to product development and service delivery, as well as its continued focus on sustainable development across all areas of business and the communities it serves.
In addition, the recently launched Innovation Factory, a collaboration with Maxum Business Incubator and The Innovation Hub, was highlighted as one of the ways in which T-Systems uses innovation as a key differentiator to enable digital transformation.
T-Systems was also recognised for its concepts of Zero Distance and Zero Outage. Zero Distance focuses on providing solutions that address consumer pain points, ensure operational efficiency and boost revenues, using emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, collaboration and mobility to help customers achieve closer proximity to their customers and workforce.
The Zero Outage quality initiative, supported by a training and certification programme that encourages employees to conceptualise new ways to reduce the time to repair outages and improve processes to prevent recurrences.
In addition to being recognised for innovative products and services, Frost & Sullivan also lauded T-Systems’ dedication to transformation and skills development. Investment in initiatives such as the ICT Academy and T-Systems’ on-going learnership programme were highlighted for recognition as proof of its commitment and passion for skills development within the ICT sector.
