Hot on the heels of their Creative Commons OpenMe Course and the recently updated digital ANA assignments for teachers and parents, Obami have just announced they’ve added to their library of NSC past papers.
They now have over 230 Sit ‘n’ Submit assignments, across all the 33 subjects areas, freely accessible via any Internet enabled device.

The initiative is in its second year and helps open up South Africa’s public domain resources to anyone with access to the Web. This release includes all the recent papers and comes well in advance of this year’s exams, giving South African learners plenty of time to prepare for impending success.

Jacqui Watson of Obami says, “Adding to our existing pool of local and freely accessible OER is just something we love doing.”

Beyond bringing OER to the masses, Obami also creates jobs by crowd-sourcing the digitisation of the past papers, using students from South African universities. There is no physical interaction and they only “meet” and interact on the platform.

Getting resources to individuals is key. Watson highlights the flexibility of the platform, saying, “People interact differently with different devices in different settings. Based on our experience we’ve accounted and designed for that. As such, Obami adapts to an individual’s environment and context, offering different but highly engaging experiences across all devices on Web or mobile.”
