RUBiQ, a cloud solution that is run on cloud platform infrastructure from leading cloud services company Pamoja, has served as the platform of choice to expand DHL’s global back office systems. Preliminary testing has revealed that the project has been successful.

This success is attributed to the fact that the Project has not only strengthened DHL’s operations, it has also reinforced Pamoja’s efforts to build a cloud Services marketplace for Africa.

Albie Bester, CEO of Pamoja, explains that the RUBiQ offering from Guideline Biztech was one of the first business services to be incorporated into the Pamoja cloud. “DHL required a hosting environment that is accessible across its entire operations,” he continues.

“We are positioned to address this need because the Pamoja cloud platform is directly connected to all the major internet exchanges in Europe via SEACOM’s peering relationships,” says Bester.

The value of Pamoja’s involvement and service is the offer of a highly available, cost effective and scalable cloud platform for DHL.

However, it is the promise of exposure of RUBiQ as a cloud based Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) service to developing markets and economies that represents a key opportunity.

Says Bester, “With business being conducted at internet speed, organisations can’t focus purely on risks that can threaten value. They also have to consider risks that the enterprise can take to create value. This requires systems that can keep a finger on the pulse of the organisation where and whenever business is conducted. A cloud based GRC system can become part of the organisation’s DNA and not be left as an afterthought.

While the Pamoja model is aimed at creating cloud services for Africa, in Africa, it also serves as a launch pad for locally developed solutions, such as RUBiQ, to be introduced into the international market.

Pamoja’s cloud model not only provides a perfect technical and operational fit for RUBiQ, the Pamoja channel model exposes the RUBiQ solution to other African markets such as Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
