CRS Technologies, a leading provider of HR & Payroll services and solutions, is one of a growing number of businesses that support the Payroll Giving South Africa initiative.
This is an on-going national project that places charities, represented through an independent trust called The Giving Organisation, in front of potential corporate sponsors and donors.
Ten South African charities, including the Red Cross, NSPCA, WESSA, CANSA, CHOC, ACFS, Cotlands, DTHF and Ithemba Trust, amongst others, form part of The Giving Organisation. This body is owned and managed by its beneficiaries, and audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
It is affiliated to Payroll Giving, an organised forum through which companies and employees can support a number of worthy causes.
This forum is a direct, simple and effective way for businesses and individuals to ensure that their contribution is securely transferred and assists those who are in need. It is simple for employers to set up and employees can choose the amount they wish to give.
CRS Technologies has identified Payroll Giving as an important recipient of its broader CSI programme.

True to the more modern payroll administration practices, Payroll Giving requires virtually no manual intervention.
McKerrell adds that affiliation to the initiative contributes towards a business’ BBBEE accreditation requirements, as well as fulfils many of the corporate governance regulation. For employees it is a safe and hassle-free means of supporting charities of their choice.
Payroll Giving is focused on creating and aligning ecosystems (including companies, employees and private individuals) in order to facilitate interaction.
McKerrell believes that the initiative is not only benefiting those in need, but also going a long way to enhancing the status of payroll as an evolving critical facet of society.
