Take advantage of energy efficient, cost-effective networking switches designed for modernising and scaling network infrastructure, with the new Dell Networking N-Series from distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC).
Ideal for the SME and the mid-market, these Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switches offer a comprehensive enterprise-class feature set that delivers consistent, simplified management and offers high availability device stack and network design.
“The Dell N-Series delivers enterprise functionality to the SME and mid-market. The switches are Software Defined Networking (SDN) ready, a feature that is usually only available on high-end solutions. This feature basically separates the network’s control from the forwarding planes to ease of management and optimisation. In addition, it enables organisations that are planning to migrate to SDN architecture to future-proof their investment,” explains Jaco Erasmus, Dell Enterprise Division Manager at DCC.
The N-Series is available in three models: the N4000, N3000 and N2000. The N4000 series is a power-efficient and flexible 10GbE switching solution that offers simple scalability and high density for demanding networking environments. It features resilient stacking architecture for reliable network performance. The N3000 1GbE switch is designed for advanced Layer 3 distribution and dense Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) up to 48 ports in a 1 Rack Unit (RU) format.
It features dual hot-swappable power supplies for added resiliency and added switching capacity from the previous range. The N2000 is an economical 1GbE switch for efficient Layer 2+ access, ideal for users, peripherals and servers. The N-series is enabled for stacking up to 12 switches and managed with a single Internet Protocol (IP) address from a single screen for reliable network performance.
“A consistent OS and interface is used across the N-Series family to simplify management and reduce installation time. In addition, all switches in the range interface with open standards protocols, maximising interoperability and minimising the need to rip and replace your entire networking environment,” Erasmus adds.
The new N-Series features Dell Networking OS 6 across the board, enabling a single code base across the series and simplifying deployment by applying and processing configurations across the N-Series in an identical fashion. The N-Series supports loop-free redundancy without spanning tree, using MLAG to create high availability and full bandwidth utilisation, ideal for modern network design. Storage implementations are simplified on the N3000 and N400 with Dell EqualLogic compatibility.
The Dell N-Series is available immediately from selected resellers.
