Huawei has announced the launch of two new smartphones, the 6-inch Ascend Mate 7 and the 5,5-inch Ascend G7, set to hit the African market early in 2015.
“These devices symbolise our continuous commitment to provide customers with access to premium quality products which won’t break the bank,” says Yudi Rambaran, director: Product Marketing at Huawei Consumer Business Unit – South Africa.
“We are proud to announce that these fully featured smartphones will be available from early next year and we anticipate successful uptake from our channel partners.
“The Ascend Mate7 is the latest big-screen smartphone from Huawei that showcases our ambitions as the number three smartphone vendor in the world,” Rambaran adds.
Despite its larger screen size, the Ascend Mate7 has a slim 7,9mm, ergonomically curved design made of a strong aluminium alloy that weighs only 185g.
The standard Ascend Mate7, single SIM model is offered with 2Gb RAM and 16Gb of on-board memory in either moonlight silver or obsidian black. The premium, 3Gb RAM with 32Gb memory is a Dual SIM device that is available in amber gold.
The phone features single-touch fingerprint technology that combines with Huawei’s next evolution of EMUI 3.0 user interface. It also offers LTE connectivity.
The Ascend Mate7 will be available from early 2015, with the standard version retailing at a recommended price of between R7 000 and R9 000, with pricing for the Dual SIM is still to be announced.
The Ascend G7 LTE Smartphone is the latest addition to Huawei’s impressive Ascend G series. This single SIM handset will also be available early 2015 at the recommended retail price of between R4 000 and R5 000.
The release of these two new smartphone models follows the popular pink Huawei Ascend P7 LTE Smartphone, which is available in-store now for around R6699.
