Julie Ferreira has been appointed country lead for RSA, The Security Division of EMC Southern Africa, with effect from 1 August 2014.
Formerly head of Cisco South Africa’s Enterprise Sales operation, Ferreira has taken on responsibility for all RSA’s business throughout southern Africa.
RSA leads the industry in helping customers advance and transform their fraud detection and security capabilities through the innovative use of technology solutions. The company’s objective is to provide its customers with a ‘Defence in Depth’ approach. All RSA web fraud detection solutions complement each other by covering the entire end-user web experience across multiple channels and touch points.
“Right now, my focus is on continuing to build RSA brand awareness in the market, and to grow the business,” Ferreira says. “I believe we can achieve double-digit growth next year.”
With security a hot topic across the industry, Ferreira has committed to working closely with EMC and RSA’s channel partners.
“Security continues to be top of mind for CIOs, and we are looking forward to meeting with customers and advising them on the optimal way forward. By building even stronger relationships with our channel partners, we will be well positioned to meet the needs of not only large enterprise customers, but also mid-market and public sector organisations,” she says.
“I am delighted to have this opportunity with a highly-skilled RSA team, and to form an integral part of the EMC Federation.”
The federated model recently introduced by EMC Corporation will provide enterprises across Africa with the capabilities they require to embrace the new IT agenda of mobile, cloud computing, Big Data and social media. EMC Information Infrastructure, Pivotal, RSA and VMware form a federation of strategically aligned businesses, each focused and free to execute individually or together.
“The Federation of EMC companies is working extensively to bring advanced solutions to every business in every industry; allowing organisations to capitalise on the new era of application, information, and technology innovation,” Ferreira says.
