Dimension Data, the $6-billion ICT solutions and services provider, has announced that it has been awarded four prestigious awards at the Cisco Collaboration Summit in Los Angeles.
These include Global Collaboration Partner of the Year; EMEAR Theatre Collaboration Partner of the Year; EMEAR Midmarket Collaboration Partner of the Year. Dimension Data’s recently-acquired Nexus business received the Americas WebEx Partner of the Year Award.

Dimension Data and Cisco signed a partnership that extended the Dimension Data portfolio of cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) services to include Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) earlier this year. Dimension Data will deliver its Cisco HCS – based services as a part of its portfolio of public, private and hybrid cloud services with multiple consumption models to support both dedicated and multi-tenant, usage-based environments.

Dimension Data was the first company in South Africa to deploy HCS in its client environments when it launched HCS on its Interaction on Demand, Contact Centre-as-a-Service platform, which supplies Contact Centre services to various clients across South Africa.

“Clients today are struggling to keep up with managing and maintaining their UC environments, with most support budgets being cut to the bare minimum,” says Jay Reddy, communications executive, Dimension Data Middle East and Africa.

“They are looking for more flexibility in buying and consuming UC Services and most clients still have a significant investment in on-premise UC environments today with many of them not ready to relinquish their existing UC assets or service and support teams just yet. Many clients are still looking for that flexibility with options available to them as to how they can consume UC services, taking into account their existing investments.”

Dimension Data’s strategy is designed to utilise its expertise in UC and cloud to empower enterprises to realise the full benefits of the cloud, regardless of their stage of cloud UC adoption. Dimension Data’s portfolio of cloud services and managed services will increase the ROI benefits associated with UC, such as increased productivity and collaboration both for clients who have already invested in UC and for companies at any stage of their UC and cloud evolution.

“Dimension Data represents one of Cisco’s longest standing global partners both globally and in South Africa. Our strategic partnership spans over 20 years and these achievements demonstrate the value this partnership is bringing to both companies. I commend Dimension data for these accolades and look forward to further strengthening and consolidating our partnership in the future,” says Stefano Mattiello, Interim MD, Cisco, South Africa.

Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) has achieved the Global Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification, providing assurance that the architecture fully supports the deployment of cloud services across public and private cloud environments.
