HiSense has become a trend-setter at the 2015 International CES show taking place in Las Vegas this week, entering the laser theatre market with its new “no-screen” concept.

The company hosted a press conference announcing that it has become the first to offer the no-screen concept.

The new product is already selling in the mainland China market – and has seen 10 000 unit sales within just the first two months.

The concept relies of Hisense’s departure from reliance on a standard television set’s key components. The “screen” used to be a vital part of similar sets, the company says, but now, that rule-the-day advantage enjoyed by the screen brands will fade as screens are discarded once and for all in the no-screen laser TV era.

Hisense Group’s chief scientist Huang Weiping predicts: “No-screen TV” will become the future trend of the industry. A wall, or even a piece of cloth, might serve as the “screen”.

“Hisense’s laser theatre TV is just a small beginning and already a successful attempt. Large-scale popularisation and promotion is just around the corner. Despite the fact that the costs remain high at present, the price of a 100-inch product amounts to only one-tenth of that of an LCD TV of the same size.”
