The Competition Tribunal has approved Bytes People Solutions’ acquisition of the business of Inter-Active Technologies.
The agreement, as approved by the Commission, will be effective from 3 March 2015. The acquisition will involve the transfer of the employees and contracts of Inter-Active Technologies into Bytes People Solutions.
The acquisition is of strategic importance to the Bytes People Solutions business in that it extends its range of value offerings across both inbound and outbound customer services to current and new customers.
According to Dr Madelise Grobler, MD of Bytes People Solutions, the decision by the Competition Tribunal is significant for Bytes People Solutions. The ruling in favour of the acquisition, says Grobler, upholds the decision by Bytes People Solutions to undertake the purchase and will provide for a broader platform for cross and upselling opportunities within the organisation.
“The acquisition of the business of Inter-Active Technologies will add enormously to the current capabilities of Bytes People Solutions as we aggregate the skills and abilities of the employees of the two businesses,” says Grobler.
As a specialised provider of fully-fledged outsourced customer contact centres, multimedia customer service technology platforms, customer service software and related professional services, the acquisition of the business of Inter-Active Technologies was a strategic opportunity for Bytes People Solutions to grow its footprint in these sectors, and Bytes People Solutions will see both immediate and long-term gains from the transaction.

The incorporation of Inter-Active Technologies’ assets and transferral of employees into Bytes People Solutions will commence in March 2015.
