Tablet sales at laptop and accessories retailer The Notebook Company were down during January, compared to January 2014 – and are showing distinct signs of stagnation.
This is according to Christopher Riley, CEO of The Notebook Company, who says tablet sales now only account for 20% of total sales in a month.
“Three years ago tablet sales accounting for 40% of revenue, but this has dropped off and our range of laptops are proving far more popular.”
The Apple iPad is no longer the bestselling tablet at The Notebook Company and has lost ground to the vast variety of Android tablets, which come to the market at far lower prices, taking the bulk of the market.
Riley believes Android tablets will increasingly put pressure on iPad sales around the globe. “But tablet sales are definitely looking stagnant – and I believe one will find that this is a worldwide trend.”
