Bharti Airtel Africa, the leading telecommunications service provider in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has unveiled its new regional head office in Matadi, Bas-Congo.
While unveiling the new building to Jacques Mbadu, the Governor of Bas-Congo, Airtel DRC MD Alain Kahasha says that the building was one of Airtel’s key investments in the region.
“Through this regional office, we are reaffirming our commitment to deepen our investments in the DRC as well as our support for the modernity revolution program currently in progress. We will also be participating in the infrastructure development program as we assert our leadership position in the country’s telecommunication industry,” says Kahasha.
The new office building, which is located on Koyongo Street, will host over 75 employees and all Airtel’s infrastructure in the region. Earlier in the year, Airtel acquired an office block in Kinshasa which serves as the national head office soon after the completion of construction of its DRC East commercial head office in Goma.
“Airtel remains committed in playing a key role in DRC’s reconstruction by facilitating human connections. We consider ourselves a partner of both local and national authorities implementing initiatives geared towards improving the living conditions of the country’s population,” says Kahasha.
