Bytes People Solutions (PS), a division of Bytes Technology Group, has been nominated as a finalist in the skills development category of the 14th Annual Oliver Empowerment Awards.

The Oliver Empowerment Awards, hosted by Topco Media, take place at Emperors Palace on 23 April 2015 and will feature Public Enterprises Minister, Lynne Brown, as the keynote speaker.
The awards offer a platform for nominated companies to showcase their achievements in the skills development sector. Past winners have been established as transformational leaders in South Africa and gained international recognition.

Bytes People Solutions was selected for demonstrating these values in their business practices. In 2014 Bytes People Solutions was shortlisted for the skills development award due to its commitment to skills development and building a knowledge economy.

According to Madelise Grobler, MD of Bytes People Solutions, the nomination is proof of the efforts by Bytes People Solutions to upskill and empower all South Africans.

This nomination also recognises Bytes People Solutions for creating a culture of entrepreneurship, developing best practices and carving out powerful and sustainable models of business for empowerment and transformation in South Africa. Other companies shortlisted for the award include Bidvest Managed Solutions, EuropCar SA, McKinsey & Company, PC Training & Business College and Total SA.

“We are proud to be associated with the Oliver Empowerment Awards, and especially pleased to be recognised in the skills development category. South Africa is currently faced with large-scale unemployment, and job creation and skills development have been earmarked by government as fundamental development areas for economic growth. As a responsible corporate citizen it is our duty to work with government to address the skills shortage in our country,” Grobler says.

Skills development is a key growth area for Bytes People Solutions, having recently acquired the business of Inter-Active Technologies and become one of the leading call centre providers in South Africa.

“The acquisition of Inter-Active Technologies has added enormously to the current capabilities of Bytes People Solutions as we aggregate the skills and abilities of the respective businesses and extend the range of value offerings across both inbound and outbound customer services to current and new customers,” says Grobler.

Founded in 1996, Bytes People Solutions is renowned as one of South Africa’s premier skills development and training organisations, offering a range of business outsourcing solutions. The outsource model is designed to provide a service to customers requiring specialised know-how relating to specific business processes, using a combination of sound business process principles and best practices, leading-edge technologies and well trained personnel.
