Home security company ADT and digital security provider McAfee have announced a collaboration designed to raise the standards for consumer protection and redefine the next generation of security for the connected world.

Through this partnership, the security leaders plan to develop a cohesive platform where users will be able to easily protect their digital and physical domains from one centralised, easy to use portal.

In the initial phase of the partnership, the McAfee LiveSafe service will be combined with ADT Pulse to provide an additional layer of protection for a customer’s home or business.

ADT Pulse is a complete security and automation solution that uses mobile technology that allows customers to monitor their home or business security from any web-enabled smartphone, tablet or computer.

McAfeeLiveSafe is a service that safeguards consumers’ data, identity, and all of their digital devices. By securing devices with McAfee LiveSafe service, ADT can provide its customers with confidence that their physical security remains protected against unauthorised remote arming and disarming of their home security systems should their mobile devices become lost or stolen.

The two companies will also work together to educate and raise awareness around the need for new layered security standards and best practices that protect consumers’ homes, personal property, digital data and identities.

“We are constantly seeking ways to increase protection for our customers in an increasingly connected and complex world,” says Arthur Orduña, senior vice-president and chief innovation officer at ADT.

“Partnering with McAfee adds another vital layer of security to our Pulse solution with McAfee LiveSafe service, and opens up innovation opportunities for our platforms and products.”

Mike DeCesare, president of McAfee, comments: “In today’s always connected digital world, our entire lives are kept across our devices. With the Internet of Things rapidly evolving across digital and physical applications, our partnership with ADT marks a critical advance in protecting consumers’ property and information in more ways than ever before.”
