Altech Collab was recently presented with Best Service Capabilities award for 2014 at the Huawei Enterprise Annual Channel Conference. The company also scooped awards for Name Account Development and Best IP Sales.
Altech Collab is the business unit within the Altron Group focused exclusively on providing solutions based on Huawei Technologies. The company signed a value-added partner (VAP) agreement with the leading global ICT solutions provider in 2012; it is the most active Huawei partner in South Africa and its only four-star certified service provider and VAP.
Altech Collab acts as the conduit between Altron TMT and Huawei, and now forms part of Bytes Systems Integration (an Altron subsidiary).
“The Best Service Capabilities award is particularly significant for us because it recognises the significant investment we have made in skills – we have already certified and trained 25 engineers in Huawei technical competencies as well as pre-sales,” says Caroline Beswick, who heads up Altech Collab. “The award positions us as the go-to company for Huawei-based solutions.”
The Name Account Development award recognises the extent of Altech Collab’s customer base and sales activity, while the Best IP Sales award celebrates the fact that Altech Motomo recently won the tender to build, operate and maintain a broadband fibre network for 316 Gauteng Provincial Government buildings, using Huawei Networking equipment
“Huawei has been active in South Africa for more than a decade, particularly in the mobile carrier space, and is gaining recognition for the quality of its R&D and the excellence of its products,” says Beswick. “With major wins such as the Gauteng Broadband Network and the Passenger Rail Association of South Africa’s roll-out of a complete Huawei GSM-R solution, this is a brand that is going places – and Altech Collab aims to be its co-pilot.”
