In demonstrating how innovation and collaboration can be achieved sustainably in an organisation, Altron’s group executive of strategy and technology, Dr Willie Oosthuysen, was awarded the title of Innocentrix Innolive 2015 Corporate Entrepreneur at a recent ceremony held at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria.
The awards formed part of the Innolive 2015 conference, which aims to showcase best practice in organisational innovation capabilities.
Innocentrix, an innovation business and technology services company, defines a corporate entrepreneur as an individual who champions growth and the development of ideas from concept to commercialism within a corporate environment.
“Altron is well-positioned to achieve sustained business growth by aligning the group for the business of today as well as the business of the future,” says Oosthuysen. “For us, it’s about balancing ‘business as usual’ with forward innovative thinking.” He also advises organisations to leverage collaboration and partnerships and be ready for the globalisation and commercialisation of intellectual property.
In addition, Altron ranked in the top five within the Innocentrix Innovation League division where companies were judged on organisation and collaboration; people and culture; and leadership and ambition, amongst other criteria.
