Less than four months after the departure of Hans Swart from Acer Africa as its southern African country manager, another senior executive at the company has announced he is leaving the company.

Damien Durrant, country business manager for Acer Africa, tendered his resignation on Monday with immediate effect.

Durrant joined the company in 2010 and was part of a team led by then-country manager Graham Braum that was credited with taking Acer to the number one spot for PC sales in South Africa.

Braum left the company in 2011 to take up the reins at the local operations of Lenovo. Swart succeeded him at Acer, but resigned in September last year.

His resignation left the door open for David Drummond, who had previously headed the local operation from 2002 to 2008. In November it was announced that Drummond had been appointed as vice-president for Acer Middle East and Africa.

At the time of going to press neither Durrant nor Drummond were available for comment.
