AxizWorkgroup has been voted by consumer and SME resellers as their favourite distributor in 2014, having won two out of five categories in the Consumer/SME section of the annual Channelwise Awards.
The Midrand-based distributor was voted as the top distributor in the End User Computing and Servers, Storage and Networking categories of the award.
Components was won by Pinnacle Africa; while Drive Control scooped the Printers, Peripherals and Consumables category; and Esquire was voted tops in the Software category.
The Consumer/SME survey in this year’s awards was closely contested. In the Components category, resellers named Seagate as their favourite disk drive vendor, NVidia as the top graphics card vendor and Kingston as the top vendor of both USBs and memory.
In the End User Computing category, HP was named as the top vendor for desktop computers and notebooks, while Samsung walked off with the award for resellers’ favourite handheld vendor.
The Printers, Peripherals and Consumables category was dominated by HP, which scooped the top honours for consumables, inkjets, laser printers and multi-function printers. Logitech was voted favourite accessories vendor, Samsung won accolades as the top monitor vendor and Acer was named the favourite projector vendor.
In the Servers, Storage and Networking category, HP featured again, as the favourite server vendor, with Seagate names top storage hardware vendor. APC was the leading UPS/disaster recover supplier and Cisco won the award for wireless routers.
In the Software category, Sage was named as the top accounting software vendor, Pastel Payroll won the payroll section and Kaspersky romped home with the security software vendor award.
For the annual Channelwise Awards, resellers are asked to vote for their favourite vendors and distributors in a number of categories, and to rate that according to various criteria. The Consumer/SME survey is carried out online, and this year just short of 1 500 resellers cast their votes.
