Shoppers visiting Canal Walk Cape Town this festive season can look forward to two months of free high-speed uncapped MWeb WiFi.
In partnership with Canal Walk, customers can now browse the internet on their smartphones, tablets and laptops, download apps and chat on social networking platforms at no cost until end February 2014. Shoppers will have access within the centre by selecting @MWeb from their WiFi network settings. A once-off registration is all that is required to get a full internet experience.
Customers will also automatically be signed into the WiFi service the next time they visit Canal Walk or any other of the MWEB WiFi Zones, which include N1 City Mall, Goodwood or Protea Glen Mall, Soweto. To ensure customers can enjoy even more quality downloads, MWEB has partnered with WeChat, DSTV and MyEdit. This gives users access to more rich media content such as gaming, music downloads, streaming and more.
“Most consumers carry their smartphone or tablet with them while visiting malls, so it is no surprise that access to quality, high-speed WiFi is in great demand in these spaces. A superb way of improving the shopping experience is to give people access to online stores, product and restaurant reviews. It also gives retailers and marketers a great way to educate shoppers about specials and upcoming events,” says MWeb WiFi GM, Nathier Kasu.
From mid-December onwards, all common areas being walkways and courts in Canal Walk will be an MWeb WiFi Zone. Unlike traditional WiFi hotspots, a WiFi Zone means that customers won’t have to log into separate hotspots as they move from one area of the mall to another. After the end of February, shoppers will continue to have access to internet and get the first 30 minutes WiFi access for free.
In addition, MWeb WiFi is a presenting partner for Canal Walk’s Snow Play Park, a snow-themed play area running until 5 January 2014.
