Protect your environment and equipment from unstable power conditions with the new Smart-UPS On-Line 230 V from APC by Schneider Electric, available from distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC).

The APC Smart-UPS On-Line 230 V is designed and developed for the harshest power conditions in the world and provides high density, true double-conversion online power protection for servers, voice and data networks, medical labs, light industry and other power-critical applications. They are available in several models and include advanced management features and industry-leading power factor for maximum Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) density.

“Unstable power can cause major damage to sensitive equipment, not to mention disrupting business when power fails. Critical equipment needs to be protected with a UPS that offers instant backup as well as runtime to enable extended productivity,” says Elrica Quick, APC Product Specialist at DCC.

The Smart-UPS On-Line 230 V (single phase) offers a unity output power factor, double conversion online topology with advanced power management features. It is capable of supporting loads from 5 Kilovolt Ampere (kVA) to 10 kVA in a rack/tower convertible chassis.

The 6 kVA, 8 kVA and 10 kVA models feature unity output power factor, which enables the support of power-hungry blade servers or heavily loaded equipment racks. Multiple battery packs can be configured to extend runtime and all models include an integrated network management card for remote management, opening the smart slot for other required functionality.

The Smart-UPS On-Line 230 V offers best in its class power density, as well as a highly efficient ‘green mode’, achieving 98% efficiency, saving utility and cooling costs without compromising performance or reliability.

A built-in energy meter measures energy usage and displays UPS efficiency in various modes of operation for easy energy tracking. Intelligent battery management enables auto detection of new battery packs, extends the life of batteries, and informs the user which batteries need to be replaced and when. The Smart-UPS On-Line 230V also enables surge protection of equipment.

“The Smart-UPS On-Line family provides value to customers with demanding power conditions, making them the ideal solution for a variety of applications in the African market,” Quick concludes.

All models include PowerChute management software, which provides unattended graceful shutdown of network Operating Systems (OS). An intuitive LCD display provides detailed and accurate information as well as local configuration ability.

The Smart-UPS On-Line 230 V features a three-year warranty, in comparison to the traditional two-year warranty on the predecessor family, and all models are available immediately from selected resellers. Options to extend the warranty with an additional one- or three-year on-site repair or replace warranty are also available.
