Microsoft solutions from distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) are now available via Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) to retailers and resellers.
Microsoft ESD ensures the secure delivery of a product key that enables users to download the software and unlock its full feature set at their convenience.
This enables the channel to improve the customer experience with instant delivery of Microsoft software products, including Office packages and applications as well as the latest Windows Operating System (OS).
“The old model of delivering a disc or DVD with software on it has become out-dated in a world where everything from books and movies to music is available for download 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Microsoft ESD brings software into the digital era, offering new levels of convenience for customers as well as a number of benefits to the channel,” says Ruben Naicker, Microsoft Product Specialist at DCC.
For resellers and retailers, the ability to offer Microsoft software through ESD not only meets increasing customer demand for such a service, it also offers a number of benefits. ESD products can be offered both online and in store with ease while lowering the cost of delivery.
In addition, as there is no physical stock, inventory costs are minimised, the risk of theft is zero, and channel partners are able to stock a wider range of premium products without additional risk. Transactions can take place in real-time, at any time of the day, and zero packaging reduces environmental impact, making ESD a fully eco-friendly solution.
“ESD also helps to support targeted marketing tactics, which work to increase the rate of sales for improved turnover and profitability. Furthermore, as the entire process takes place digitally, a full audit trail is created which allows for renewals to be easily tracked and monitored.
