Distributor Drive Control Corporation’s HP PSG business unit manager, Francois van Wijk, was recently awarded the ‘Outstanding HP Channel Product Manager of the Year 2013’ award.

HP hosted their annual HP Partner Awards 2013 in Sandton on 21 November 2013 where all HP Partners were invited to attend this annual function.

HP focuses on strict criteria for this award and key areas include the engagement and involvement of the product manager in HP’s Printing, Personal, Systems (PPS) product portfolio. In addition, the product managers were measured on their drive to meet HP’s product objectives and align their business with HP’s goals.

“It is a privilege to be awarded ‘Outstanding HP Channel Product Manager of the Year 2013’ and receive the recognition from a Tier 1 vendor. Acknowledgement to DCC’s HP Product Administrator, Dean de Beer, must also be made as he assisted me to achieve our HP goals, contributing to this award,” says Van Wijk.

Van Wijk focuses on HP notebooks and desktops and is ‘hands-on’ with all HP related issues. Van Wijk not only manages DCC’s HP business but also handles all vendor and sales team enquiries. Furthermore, targets are updated by HP on a quarterly basis and as such, Van Wijk needs to ensure the account is closely managed to ensure DCC meets their targets.

Says HP’s Adele Oosthuizen: “Van Wijk was a worthy recipient of this award as he is a true HP ambassador and is always willing to assist with problem solving, whether it is for HP, a reseller or end user customer. His commitment to service excellence and driving HP’s business is exemplary.”

Says Jenny Rex, sales director at DCC, “We are proud of Francois and his accolade. It is an acknowledgement and testimony to his professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile.”
