ESET, the leader in proactive digital protection and Cyberoam, a leading global provider of network security appliances, has announced a new partnership, integrating ESET’s software-based two-factor authentication (2FA) with Cyberoam’s Unified Threat Management and Next Generation Firewall appliances to provide an additional layer of credential security, securing both end-users and enterprise networks.
ESET’s highly secure mobile two-factor one-time-password (2FA OTP) authentication system together with Cyberoam’s Layer-8 user-identity based security provides enhanced security, ensuring safer access to company network when remote / VPN users or mobile workforce try to connect to company networks.
“Enterprise businesses have for too long struggled to ensure adequate security in granting access to network resources especially for remote users. This integration will help add another layer of security to the authentication process. We are pleased to partner with Cyberoam to enable enhanced two-factor authentication security with the administrative ease that enterprise customers value,” says Lee Bristow, security consultant at ESET southern Africa.
Benefits to ESET customers:
* Simple integration with SSL VPN of Cyberoam UTMs and NGFWs using strong RADIUS authentication based on challenge-response technology
* Easy to deploy, light-weight and highly secure mobile two-factor one-time-password (2FA OTP) authentication system for enterprise VPN users
Benefits to Cyberoam customers
Added layer of two-factor authentication for:
* Remote users accessing network resources using SSL VPN;
* Administrative access to Cyberoam network security appliances; and
* Internal users on Cyberoam Captive Portal.
One-time-password (OTP) is provisioned to VPN users through a pre-installed mobile application or via SMS, hence also benefitting users having older mobile phones who are unable to run the application.
Enterprise verticals such as healthcare, financial services, advisory firms and others having a pressing need for stronger user authentication will benefit immensely with this integration.
Existing Cyberoam customers can leverage more efficient enterprise security with ESET’s 2FA solution to secure VPN communications for servers and web applications, besides gaining granular visibility into network and user activities with Cyberoam’s monitoring and logging capabilities.
