Digital and lifestyle distributor, Esquire Technologies – the 2012 African distributor of the Year – has announced that it is to launch the Geeko Junior and Geeko Premium tablets.
This is according to Asgar Mahomed, MD of Esquire Technologies, who says the Geeko Junior augments the Geeko Kids – a tablet “specifically aimed at kids”, which was launched in June last year.
The Geeko tablet range – Esquire’s own range of tablets – is growing in popularity in South Africa.
More than 4 000 of the 5-inch and 7-inch Geeko Kids – described as Esquire’s “first generation” offering for children – have been sold since they were launched.
Mahomed says the Geeko Junior is the “second generation” offering for children, while the Geeko Premium is aimed at the “serious mobile businessman”.
The unit comes with the full functionality of WiFi and 3G, and has the Android 4.0 operating system (Ice-Cream Sandwich).
