As the shift towards a connected lifestyle is set to enjoy even more focus in 2014, FNB has included TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and the Playstation 4 to its smart device range.
Gaming consoles were first added to the product mix in November 2013 when FNB made the Xbox available to qualifying Cheque Account holders. This marked the first step towards expanding the FNB smart device offer, from enabling customers to bank wherever they are, to leading a more connected life – both on the go and at home.
“It has been just over two years since we introduced the smart device offer to our customers as part of our digital banking strategy,” says Irlon Terblanche, CEO at FNB Core Banking Solutions (CBS).
“By making TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and a wider range of gaming consoles available to our customers we are enabling them to stay on trend with the latest technology and move towards a more connected living experience which positions FNB as a lifestyle partner,” adds Kartik Mistry, Head of Smart Devices at FNB CBS.
Consistent with the FNB smart device offer, qualifying Cheque Account holders can pay devices off over a 24 month period, with zero additional interest, fees or charges, depending on affordability.
“With over 200 000 smart devices sold since the launch of the offer in 2011 it was clear that this offer is relevant to our customers. The expansion of our product offer over the years, as well as customer feedback indicated that customers want to have the option of adding more than one device to their device portfolio, which we have now made available,” concludes Mistry.
