JDA Software Group has announced that is has been named to the 2013 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100, an annual listing of supply chain solutions and services providers that demonstrate profound ability to move their customers toward supply chain excellence.
JDA was recognised based on a supply chain project for Butterball, the largest producer of turkey products in the U.S. that distributes retail and foodservice products in more than 30 countries.
The JDA-Butterball project was deemed one of the 100 Great Supply Chain Projects of 2013 based on the significant benefits Butterball received through its implementation of JDA’s Demand and Fulfilment solutions.
Butterball selected JDA Demand and JDA Fulfilment to help improve the company’s short and long-term forecasting processes and improve the management of date-sensitive inventory.
Results of the project included 50% improvement in long term forecast bias and 28% reduction in distressed obsolescent inventory.
“Through the use of JDA solutions, Butterball is better positioned to anticipate and respond quickly when market dynamics change,” says Dean Lisenby, director of demand and supply planning, Butterball.
“The improved forecasting and data management processes have enabled Butterball to be more proactive in shaping demand. This allows supply chain planners to address seasonal capacity requirements while optimally balancing capacity and inventory risk.”
“What makes JDA’s receipt of the 2013 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 significant is that this award is based on a customer achieving supply chain excellence and measurable ROI,” says Danny Halim, VP, industry strategies, JDA Software.
“Butterball leads its industry in quality, great tasting products and JDA is proud to support the supply chain processes that help keep Butterball customers loyal and satisfied.”
Supply & Demand Chain Executive received more than 200 submissions for consideration in the 2013 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100.
Submissions were evaluated by the magazine’s editorial staff primarily based on: ambitiousness/scope of the project (30%); creative application of technologies/solutions/services used (20%); extent of the business results/impact (40%); clarity of submission (10%).
Butterball was also the recipient of JDA’s 2013 Real Results Awards, an award that honours companies that achieve measurable return on investment, develop innovative approaches to supply chain processes, and collaborate beyond traditional supply chain boundaries.
