LaserLock Technologies (OTCBB: LLTI), a company involved in authenticating products and persons, announced today that it has been selected as a security provider for the social security card of an undisclosed African nation.
“We are excited to announce that our state-of-the-art product Duochrome will be incorporated into a social security card for the first time,” says Neil Alpert, CEO.
“This advanced security ink will provide an added layer of protection against identity theft and counterfeiting for those citizens who hold it.”
Duochrome is an exclusive, state-of-the-art security pigment that is based on more than a decade of research in the anti-counterfeiting industry. By taking advantage of green technology, Duochrome has the ability to instantly change colour under both CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lights) and LED light sources, which have become virtually ubiquitous around the globe.
The cards will be produced by American Banknote Corporation (ABnote), LaserLock’s exclusive Duochrome plastic card partner. ABnote is a global leader in the printing of secure documents and plastic cards and has been offering LaserLock’s products for a number of years. Earlier in 2013, LaserLock and ABnote signed an exclusivity agreement.
“We are proud of our long partnership with LaserLock and we are thrilled to incorporate Duochrome into this project,” says Keith Goldstein, CEO of ABnote, North America.
“The unique and uncompromised nature of the technology was appealing to our African client and we anticipate other countries will desire the same protection for their secure documents.”
