Lenovo has launched the multimode Yoga 3 Pro, Yoga Tablet 2, and the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro with built-in projector and subwoofer in South Africa.

“The expansion of the Yoga line-up in South Africa is in line with our commitment to establishing a strong foundation in Africa,” says Aymar de Lencquesaing, president of Lenovo EMEA, speaking at last night’s launch.

“Africa remains one of Lenovo’s strategic growth regions and we are witnessing tremendous demand for Lenovo devices from our partners as well as our customers. That’s why, it is imperative that we continue to expand and invest in the continent to deliver innovations that serve the unique needs of Africans.”

The ultra slim, convertible Yoga 3 Pro boasts a thin and light frame with new watchband hinge design, a QHD+ screen and Harmony, Lenovo’s intuitive software that adapts to users’ personal preferences as they use the device in its different modes.

Harmony complements Yoga’s responsive hardware features by giving users a new way to discover and use more than 50 of the most popular applications. For example, when reading an e-book, Harmony will automatically change the brightness and colour temperature according to the environment lighting.

The Yoga 3 Pro’s frame is 17% smaller than its predecessor, at just 12.8mm thin. It is also 14% lighter than the Yoga 2 Pro, at 1,19kg. These weight and size reductions were achieved with Lenovo’s new watchband hinge constructed from more than 800 pieces of steel and aluminium. Six focus points provide the same degree of flexibility and flatness seen in metallic watchbands.
