Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced at its Xperience Efficiency event in Johannesburg, that the new range of Zelio temperature controllers and accessories, key components for temperature regulation in heating and refrigeration applications, is available to the local market.
The cost-effective Zelio RTC48 temperature controllers combine simplicity, performance and value, and have the ability to interface with solid-state relays, electromechanical relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interface (HMI) displays.
Temperature controllers are designed to automatically compare the Process Value (PV) with its Set Value (SV) and produce an output that will maintain the SV. They are deployed at multiple points in the manufacturing process to enable the execution of critical processes, such as the creation of highly complex recipes in the food and beverage industry or the exact temperature control in the packaging machines.
The Zelio RTC48 offer comprises a standard 48 x 48 mm (1/16-inch DIN) format and provides the optimal balance of price and functionality, featuring the desirable PID control with auto-tuning, communication, outputs and alarms.
“Many industries desire simple and cost-effective temperature controllers to regulate the temperatures in their processes to help ensure that optimise-quality products are achieved. The Zelio RTC48 temperature controllers provide a well-designed solution to meet this need,” says Didier Baron, Relays business director for Schneider Electric.
“Our years of expertise in research, design and manufacturing have enabled us to deliver exceptional value to our customers. We continuously strive to ensure the ease of use, ruggedness and reliability of our temperature controllers in our customers’ processes.”
Schneider Electric has designed the new Zelio RTC48 to ensure ease-of-use and reliability. It is easy to set-up and the free to download configuration software further simplifies the set-up via a USB to PC connection.
The front panel has an intelligent PV status display that actively analyses the measured PV relative to the SV and changes the display colour accordingly. The overall compact design is only 56mm in depth and this translates to reduction in panel sizes.
