Pinnacle Africa has signed a deal to become an official distributor of Intel products.

Pinnacle Africa is an entirely owned subsidiary of the JSE listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings and works in close synergy with the other subsidiaries including AxizWorkgroup, Datanet and Infrasol.

Intel, a global leader in computing innovation designs, builds the essential technologies that serve as the foundation for the world’s computing devices including desktops, notebooks and servers. Accounting for a substantial majority, Intel has been dominating the PC microprocessor market for the last 2 decades and Pinnacle is exceptionally proud to have been named an official distribution partner.

Pinnacle Africa MD Tim Humphreys-Davies says being appointed as Intel Authorised Distributors will keep the company a step ahead of its competitors as Authorised Distributors are first to stock new boxed Intel products and are able to offer a broad range of services and support to resellers.

“The move really allows Pinnacle to act as a one-stop source for all PC component needs – from CPUs to motherboards to power supplies,” says Humphreys-Davies.

“We’re also able to offer other value added services to our resellers including technical support, promotions and incentives, credit facilities, logistics and even product training and business development.”

Humphreys-Davies went on to say that brand manager, Phillip Thompson, will take on the responsibility of heading up the Intel brand.

“Phillip’s experience gained managing Pinnacle’s Proline brand, combined with the company’s understanding of the local market and our large, varied portfolio of complementary brands and products will be instrumental in capitalising on the opportunity to grow both our businesses in the region,” he says.

2013 was a very eventful year for Intel as it made significant progress in alternative markets with new platforms, product launches and design wins, which increased its competitiveness. Despite its growing focus on the expansion of the mobile market, Intel continues to derive approximately 70% of its revenue from the PC market.

Since August 2013, Intel has introduced over 40 new products for various market segments, ranging from ultra-mobile devices to data centres to the Internet-of-Things. The company expects an expanding product line-up to grow its business across a broad range of devices and price points.

Pinnacle Africa’s resellers will now have access to a wider range of ICT products, an increased stock holding as well as access to customer incentives available through Intel Technology Provider programmes.
