Ricoh has again been rated one of Global 100 most sustainable corporations in the world. It is the 10th time Ricoh has received the award, this year made during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“The Global 100 is an extensive data-driven corporate sustainability assessment and inclusion is limited to a select group of the top 100 large-cap companies in the world,” says Richard Pinker, MD of Ricoh SA.
“Receiving the award for 10 years running demonstrates our commitment to social, economic, ecological and cost benefit goals,” says Dierdre Fernandes, head of marketing communications and corporate social marketing at Ricoh SA.
“The company’s global commitment goes back to its founding and establishment of The Ricoh Way, which is our internal system to ensure business excellence that relies heavily on corporate social responsibility and investment.”
Kenichi Kanemaru, corporate executive VP says: “We are proud of our advanced focus upon reducing environmental impacts and costs for our clients, while assuring the integrity and confidentiality of their information and ensuring responsible business in each community where we operate.”
Ricoh has set aggressive long term targets to reduce impacts by 87,5% by 2050 (compared with 2000 levels). In addition, its approach to lifecycle management considers all aspects of product and business activities. This, in turn, minimises resource use and maximises the reuse, recycle and reduction of raw materials.
Ricoh’s approach has been recognised by some of the most credible ratings in the world, such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, The FTSE4GOOD index series and OEKOM Corporate ratings.
