Managed IT security vendor Securicom continues to enjoy impressive year-on-year growth in the interest and adoption of its email security and content management service as evolving email-borne security threats and the increasing complexity of security technologies push more South African companies to outsource email security to competent service providers.
“Despite not being tied-into contracts, more than two-thirds of Securicom’s installed ePurifier customer base that adopted the service five years ago is still with us,” says Richard Broeke, national sales manager at Securicom. “More than half of them are SMEs.
“This not only demonstrates that local companies are increasingly opening-up to the idea of outsourcing email security, but that the vast majority is seeing the value of it,” he explains.
Securicom was the first company in South Africa to introduce email content management and security as a cloud-based service over 15 years ago, with their archiving offering now being almost 10 years old.

But there has been a marked paradigm shift in recent years. The complexity of attacks and potential damage to business, as well as lack of adequate in-house resources, are key drivers behind companies adopting a cloud-based model.
